I had signed up for a class called quilt as you go using a pattern called simon says. Well it looks like I was the only one signed up. Does anyone have advice or books that I can look at? I think I need pictures cause I have heard the concept but just can't get it into my head.

Thanks! I will check them out. I think I will need to do some practice pieces first. :-)

I have been taking a class tooquilt as you go. I just found ont the inter net something called Fun and Done I think is what it was,I think this is somehting like that. Also Cotton Theroy quilting. and a lady named Georga Bonesteel,I have some vidio's of hers. We go every Friday this lady is teaching it with out a hoop. So far we are just working on a pot holder.

If you go to your local library, look for Georgia Bonesteel book, Quilt as you Go. Her instructions are very easy to follow. I have been using her method for years. What I do if I am making a full size quilt (any size) I will piece together 2 or 3 rows then batt and back it the method she teaches. I think it is a lot less confusing then the Cotton way.
Have fun :D |
I purchased a Fun and Done kit from the internet. It is easy to do and turns out nice on the back all quilted. I picked the wrong backing for my first one, not realizing it would show on the front  , it was to busy w/the strips, so am going to start over w/solid color and it should be fine.
