I thought I saw a reference to quilting as you go on a french braid pattern, but even w/search feature, I can't find it again. I'm interested in trying this and would be interested in getting some tips before I start. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

Yes, I have made two of these table runners and my tip be sure to mark your batting very carefully

Have never made one, but plan on it.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean. Can you provide more details?

There was a thread here recently about quilting a French braid in sections. That's not quite the same as QAYG but it does mean you can quilt a large quilt more easily in a domestic sewing machine.

That's what I thought I saw too, but can't find now. If anyone comes across the link, please post it for me! Thank you!

This is the thread:

Quilting in sections wasn't the main topic, but it was mentioned later on. The book Quilting in Sections by Marti Michell is an excellent source of information. It explains a number of ways to quilt in sections and tells you how to decide which method to use based on your quilt's design.

I got my book yesterday. I haven't gone all the way thru it, but it sure give you some great options on quilting without dealing with so much bulk at once. I plan to try it out on my French Braids.

Thanks for the tip!
