Anyone know of any good ones on the web? I want to do this for my Mickey Mouse quilt so's I can have it done by my boy's bday. But I just realized tonite, how do I do the border around the blocks? Do I add that to the outside blocks and quilt them together? Do I quilt it separately? How is this done?!

There was an article in one of my magazines, but I can't find the darn thing now. *sigh*

Moonhoney, I have been reading up quite alot about this method, as I intend doing my next quilt this way. Basically you can divide your quilt top up into as many workable pieces as you like, be it by block, or by quarters if you have a large separate border you can quilt that separately then you piece all the individually quilted sections together at the end.

You need to plan ahead, visualizing where you are going to rejoin the top together after quilting....does that help???

I'm in the process of doing one now, I forgot on a couple of pieces to leave myself room for a seam, got a wee bit too close and it's a real pain to get it joined.

Kathy, I have done my king size quilt in two halves.....I hope I have left enough unquilted at the joining edges...about 1 - 2" I think :?

Was there something on this site within the past week about paper
piecing and quilt as you go??? I haven't had any luck finding the article, but then again, I might have been imagining the topic!!!!

I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks...

Piecefully yours,
Kay Susan
