Quiltbug Table Topper Pattern
I need some help. I'm trying to make this table topper using some of my left over yardage, not as the pattern calling for the use of "Fat Quarters". What are the cutting measurement if using regular cut yardage? It is very confusing to me. ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS in advance

Which pattern specifically? Could you include a link to the publisher's website with the pattern? Also, a FQ is usually 18" x 22" and you would cut your pieces from that.

A fat quarter is 18 X 22.

A fat quarter is 1/4 of a yard - 18" x 22" is the normal when you buy a fat quarter. So depending on the pattern pieces you are using - you could get away with 1/2 of a yard or 1/4 of a yard or buy fat quarters depending on the pattern size of blocks or pieces.

Is this the pattern you are talking about? http://quiltbug.com/free/table-topper.htm
I think the reason she is calling for fat quarters is that a lot of people collect those and are looking for ways to use them. You can use any piece of fabric, just read what the cutting requirements are for each color and make sure you have enough material to cut the pieces out of every color. I don't buy fat quarters, so would be cutting this out of yardage. |
Yes that is the Pattern. It is a "French Braid". I am using three different prints and the white. I just have to get my head on straight, use my thinking cap or what else it takes to figure this out. THANKS to all for your help.
