I've made quilted Christmas cards for several years. Here are a couple of them.

Okay, you all got me thinking....we are enjoying making Tube Blocks and what a great idea to make quilted Christmas Cards, why not combine the two. I whipped up this sample using 1" wide strips. The strip I sewed on top was 1-1/2" wide. 11" tube yielded 8 triangles. The card is 4-1/2" x 5-1/2" as shown on the patchwork card tute. This was just a quicky to show you but my mind is now reeling...

I have only done one quilted postcard, it was using some angel fabric, as a sympathy card for a dear friend who lost her sister.

I have a Christmas fabric that is all small squares with snowmen in different outfits etc, and have thought of using it for cards for the office.

They could be fancied up by a few sequins, beads, variegated threads, etc. Or, to push through alot quickly, just cut, fuse, finish edges!

We would love to see what you make! Good luck.

I went to Staples and bought card stock that already had a cut-out in the center, then I embroidered a Christmas design and put it in. They come with an envelope so are easy to mail. And everyone that got one enjoyed them. Marge

I just saw a really nice book at JoAnns about quilted post cards and all of their books are 40% off thru 11/14. If there is one near you maybe they have a copy there. Good luck.
