I'd love to see the back of those.
Do you just mail them as a post card or do you put them in an envelope? |
This is what I question too... are they really used for mailing? or do you put them into another envelope? Thanks

I had it hand stamped at the PO and put it in regular mail.
(no envelope) It arrived in perfect condition. |
Your postcard is just so pretty, Nana2Sew.....I love it!!!

I just make the back of mine look like a regular postcard or somewhere online there is a template for a postcard that you can print on to fabric via your printer. I did have it bookmarked but lost all that when I bought a new laptop.
I sent one to a person here on the board with a 44 cent stamp on it and dropped it in the mailbox and it was delivered with no problems. If it's really embelished, I would send it in an envelope. Suzanne |
I'd like to know more about how these are made, i.e. how big are they? Do you put batting in the middle? Do you just sew a piece of card stock on the back? That sort of thing. Please, tell me as if you were telling a child. I think these would be a neat use of a lot of Christmas scraps I have to make cards for Christmas.

They are made the same size as a standard post card, 4" X 6".
If you keep the total thickness of them under 1/4" they can be sent through the mail, first class. Mail in an envelope or mail as you would a regular post card. If you make them thicker, then there is an additional fee and they must go in an envelope. You can use batting if you like. You can applique on a plain piece of fabric or over the top of piece work. You can make it in a crazy quilt style. There is no right or wrong way to make these. The only limit is your imagination :D:D:D Google: fabric postcard images You will see hundreds of pictures of them :D:D:D |
