Quilted Golf Cart seat cover

My husband came home from golfing and announced that he wanted a quilted seat cover for a golf cart. He said another golfer had one and that it had ties on each end to attach to cart. Has anyone made one? Or do you know what size? I thought I could probably find a tutorial, but no luck. I looked in pattern books but again, no luck. (Apparently there once was a pattern by Simplicity, but it's discontinued.) I appreciate any help you can give me. His birthday is in a couple of weeks. I ordered fabric to make the back and thought that for the top I'd make simple blocks with borders to make it fit--when I figure out where the ties go and the dimensions. Unfortunately I don't know the man he was golfing with.

His description makes me think the top would be similar to a table runner--maybe a bit wider.

I found a picture of a quilted golf cart seat cover on pinterest. It doesn't look very hard to make. This might give you a good start for ideas.

I would need access to the golf cart so I could trace the seat and back onto paper to make a pattern. Sorry can't help with a pattern.

Thanks for your answers Sync and Tartan. I should have explained that I have spent quite a bit of time researching the web and though I found photos of several types, I didn't find a pattern or the dimensions. Sync I love the one you found on Pinterest. ETSY has a number of different types for sale, too.

I was thinking making one for my own use. glad you asked. I will keep searching. Thank you Sync for the link.

Could you go to a local golf course and ask them to let you measure the seat?

marymm 09-14-2015 02:55 PM

I may have to do that, quiltorelse, but since my husband works there now that he's retired, I'll have to go on his off days if I'm to keep it a surprise. I have a neighbor who also works there, so maybe I can talk him into measuring it. They don't work at the same time! It's been a great retirement job for my husband. He gets minimum pay, but what he really works for is the free golfing during times when the courses aren't too busy.
