what a great story that other quilters were able to help you!
Do you belong to a quilting guild in your area?

(I read 'Quilting For Dummies' because I had no one who had the time to teach me) Then I joined this wonderful board with all these helpful women.
Today, while struggling to pick out 20 coordinating fabrics for a bargello, (and I mean struggling since I'm a newer quilter), these two, sweet women stopped picking out their own fabrics to help me when they saw me in front of the same bolts for a while. They were shuffling bolts and hemming and hawing almost as much as I was. I am so glad they were there, my own quilting guardian angels, to keep me from buying unnecessarily. The Bible tells about older women teaching and helping younger women and I really saw that in a quilting light today. I don't think I could have coordinated that many fabrics without their help today. |
Sounds like a Titus 2 example in day to Day life!
God is so good, we never know when he will send someone along our way. :) |
I am so happy you had a good experience. At my local fabric shop, whenever they have a sale, it's amazing how you can spot a quilter a mile away! They're the ones with a whole pile of bolts in their arms!
I live in a town with several quilt shops. There is only one of them that I will go to. The rest of my business goes to a little shop 20 min out of town - because of the service and the friendly people. |
About a month ago I was in Joann's looking for a border fabric when the sweetest elderly woman came up to help!! She was also shopping and commented on my quilt, then proceeded to help me find just the right fabric. We talked and laughed together and I left feeling so GOOD about life!!!
Thanks for the story and the reminder of all the good people around!! :D |
We do not live that far from each other. I live between Watertown and the Canadian border. Just off exit 49.

No, I don't belong to a quilt guild. More like a therapy group, lol.
T-Bones-I was just up your way recently. For our anniversary in August my husband and I went to Alex Bay and later that week, we brought our kids back up to take them to Boldt Castle. They loved it. Although, my youngest was so sad to realize that a real princess would not be greeting her at the castle door, lol. |
My in-laws had a camp at Alex Bay. What a beautiful place!! :D
I love the St. Lawrence River. Really miss any kind of water!! hahaha |
