got an email promoting this magazine..never seen, nor heard of it myself..have any of you?
Do you take it? Is it good? I quit taking magazines when they quit putting in articles that were worth reading...I do not need any more patterns, and stupid polls, jokes, etc I can get online...IF I want them.. I want a magazine that has REAL articles about the art, the craft, the industry... |
I subscribe to it and it's probably not for you. There are plenty of artsy upper tier magazines out there that have practically no patterns and all articles. I'm kinda like a guy who gets ahold of a playboy magazine, I want to see pictures. If I wanted to read I'd get a book so I tend to lean toward magazines with pictures, I'm only a few years into quilting.
If I think of any offhand I'll let you know. I see them at Joann's all the time. |
You would probably like Quilting Arts magazine.

I get it and id this project out of it last mth...Mostly patterns
|
I was getting it and just cancelled it. The patterns in it started to all the same to me and there's not much more to it than patterns. Some mags I get because the patterns inspire me to create my own designs, but these were less than inspiring.
Of course, just my two cents... |
I don't think Quilter mag would be the right one for you. My recommendation is for Machine Quilting Unlimited -- pricey, but really excellent. Here is the website:
http://mqumag.danemcoweb.com/home/ I had never heard of this magazine until I browsed through a copy at Barnes & Noble. It has the kind of articles you are talking about wanting. |
perhaps you should look for a copy at the grocery store, wally world- or even the library- and check it out before considering subscribing- i pick them up every 2 or 3 months i guess- when something catches my eye
