I ran out of my 1/4" tape so bought more today. The new tape I got leaves a sticky residue on my fabric. I don't know what brand my previous tape was, but am taking this new roll back tomorrow. It looks like the brand is "Quilter's" and it says on the back that it will not leave a residue.

Can someone please recommend a brand they like? Thank you!

how do you use this tape? Seams?

I just use plain old Masking tape, and never had a problem
on any fabric. :D

have used regular 1/2 inch masking tape to quilt lattices at 45 degree angles as well as 1/4 inch quilters tape .Both worked fine for me.

I'm using it for hand quilting to quilt 1/4" away from the seam line.

Does masking tape come in 1/4" widths? I've tried 1/4" florists tape, but it gums up my needle if I go through it.

Thanks.

You can put masking tape next to a seam say it's a square but tape along all four edges of seam and quilt along inside edge of tape. I also use it on say an applique tulip ,tape along outside edge and inside edge of tulip with !/4 inch
tape and quilt along edge of tape . on my lattice I ljke to use !/2 inch masking tape and Quilt both edges of tape at 45deegree angle all the way down the length of quilt I get 12 inches or so done I will start quilting my 45 degree angle with masking tape going opposite direction all quilted the way down should look like small i/2 inch diamonds when quilted .Hope this helps.

there is tape called Tiger tape i believe. it has black marks on it for keeping your stitches exact. that might work for your lines too.

You can also use the blue painters tape. It doesn't leave a residue and comes up easily if you accidentally sew over it.

I use this all the time for marking pieces or leaving myself notes on a piece. I've never had any problems even after accidentally washing it.

HI. I read your question, and not knowing exactly what you are needing it for, but I have some Tiger Tape, I believe in the 1/4" size.. would you like for me to send it to you? I have another package of it, although I can't see well enough to use it anymore.. just send me your addie in a PM, and I will try to mail it off today, if that is what you are asking about..
