Is anybody as bad as me. When I pass a fabric store or look at fabric on line, it speaks to me "Come in and browse, I know we have something you like." I have so much fabric now that I really don't have room for it. My favorite problem is having a machine break. That's why I always keep a new one still in the box, but tried out to see if it is OK, so when one breaks, I just switch. Just happened this last week. My 7 year old Brother who has made 6 queen size quilt and many, many lap robes started to just click each time the wheel turned. My new Kenmore is wonderful. Yes, I'm a quiltaholic, fabriholic, yarnaholic, sewing machineaholic and designaholic. Design many of my own creations. If, when I take the Brother apart I don't find the problem, Walmart here I come.

My name is Kriss and I to am a quiltaholic and have passed it on to my granddaughters and friends. It is now in epidemic stages and spreading. No cure in sight.

My name is Katie and I also am a quiltoholic, fabricoholic and yes you are all enablers. I come here everyday, spending time I should be cleaning, getting new and better ideas, and help from you all. Then, I go quilt, quilt, quilt. My DH is even starting to bring my dinners to me. I need help....:)

cherylynne 09-12-2010 08:57 AM

I belong in this group, too. I have 5 sewing machines and a basement full of beautiful fabric. I sew and most of my problems seem to go away. That's a good thing. Sometimes I can even forget about food when I am working on a quilt. I get up in the middle of the night and sew until morning. Do I have a problem? I don't think so, I'm just practicing coping skills.

Katts 14 09-12-2010 08:58 AM

Hi, my name is Mary I am a quiltoholic If I could fit a bed in my sewing room my husband would never see me.

mimiknoxtaylor 09-12-2010 09:01 AM

Tell me where the meeting is & I'll be there!

HAHAHAHAHA!!! --- very funny

I know that it is a serious addiction for me, and last week, when I went into an LQS (needed a couple of little things), I took someone with me, told them to be my 'Fabric Police' and not allow me to buy any more fabric!
It worked!

dellareya 09-12-2010 09:20 AM

Oh, I hope there is room for one more person in this group.
My name is Dellareya and I am a quiltaholic, fabricaholic, craftaholic and sewaholic. Sewing is my therapy. When I'm in Sewing World, all is well in my world. Thank goodness I have a wonderful husband who supports my therapy.

Hi I'm Terri and a quiltaholic.

Theresa, the sad, pathetic dilemma you are in now is what drove me to buy 2 more machines. I had awful, terrible thoughts about what would happen if my machine went down! So I went out and bought a featherweight, and then a Brothers. Will it ever end?

Swan Song 09-12-2010 10:29 AM

Hi All! I am Diane and I too am a quiltaholic and fabricaholic. I have 4 machines, a cupboard and numerous bins of fabric, many WIPs and I just finished a 3 day local shop hop. I swore only to buy fabric to finish WIPs but... Now I have fabric to get to finish future planned projects from this trip. So I guess I only buy the fabric I need for what I have planned. At least that is my story to my DH and I am sticking to it! ;)

quiltingranny 09-12-2010 10:48 AM

Hi, my name is Phyllis and I, also am a quiltaholic! I buy way too much fabric :hunf: and notions too! :hunf: :hunf: I just can't seem to help myself  and I LOVE it :XD: :XD:

Hi, I'm Marion and I'm a sewaholic. If I don't sew a little every day ( usually a lot) I get withdrawal pains.

libertykm 09-12-2010 01:09 PM

Are you having withdrawls?

sewmom 09-12-2010 01:13 PM

hi i'm sewmom and i'm a quiltaholic, but i don't want a cure. it's cheaper than therapy and if i wasn't addicted to this it would be some other hobby. mmmmm chocolate tasting?

Blackberry 09-12-2010 01:30 PM

My name is Lauri and I guess I am a quiltaholic because I do some kind of quilting or sewing every day but Sunday. I have been quilting/sewing regularly for about 2 years and I love it, love it, love it.

jean knapp 09-12-2010 01:37 PM

I'm a quiltaholic but I'm not looking for any cure. I love it and that's my story.

Daisygirl 09-12-2010 03:08 PM

Hi, I'm Diane and I and I am definatley a quiltaholic. Isn't there some kind of Serenity Prayer for Quilters?

Matilda 09-12-2010 03:23 PM

My name is Emmy and I love to quilt.

how about this one?

Yea, though I walk through the valley of lack of time, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. In fact, what a great idea!!!! I will include a rod and staff in my next project!

Psa 23:5 Thou preparest a sewing table before me in the presence of my WIP’s: thou anointest my head with imagination; my stash runneth over.

Psa 23:6 Surely ideas and patterns shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Magdalena 09-12-2010 03:34 PM

I so badly want to be a full-time quilt-o-holic, but I have to share with housework-o-holic, cook-o-holic, but, my pray-o-holic will always be priority.

todally road 09-12-2010 03:40 PM

My name is Jo and I am a quiltic...no alcohol in this girl

glenda5253 09-12-2010 03:41 PM

Hello, my name is Glenda and I am a fabriholic already and want to be a quiltaholic. I've been following this board for about three weeks now and finally made a post two days ago. You ladies are so talented! I want to jump into quilting but I am scared...isn't that crazy. I've made like three quilt tops and that is as far as I can get. I have quilt fabric and kits up to my eyeballs and I can look at quilt patterns for hours, have downloaded dozens...and nothing. I think I need an enabler!?!

wraez 09-12-2010 03:43 PM

My name is Sue and I'm a 'fabricoholic' more so than a quilter. But I will come to quilters anonymous meetings!

warm quilt hugs, sue in CA

I am a quiltaholic and I haven't worked with fabric since July20th when I had thumb joint replacement cast coming off on Thursday and then therapy. Hoping to be back quilting soon.

"Enablers" ....that's the word I've been looking for. If if weren't for all of you putting pictures of your quilts, projects and sewing rooms on this board, maybe I could finish some of my quilts. I agree: it's all your fault!!! :-))

Maybe1day 09-12-2010 04:02 PM

Umn, I'm not sure I qualify to join this club you see my family keeps finding fabric and such that I have bought and stashed away then forgotten I have while I..........oh yes, I'm in denial!

Maybe1day

Ramona Byrd 09-12-2010 04:11 PM

lance1quilts22 09-12-2010 04:11 PM

My name is Betty Ditto I agree with every thing that you have just said, and I have been doing all of this since 1973 so I guess I have earned my pin by now and I am not going to guit any time soon.

galvestonangel 09-12-2010 04:23 PM

My name is Pat and I am a quitaholic with a collecting problem. And I couldn't be with a better group of people.

If those evil quilt shops would not send me those enticing sales and pictures of new fabric, I think I could get better.

quiltingaz 09-12-2010 04:27 PM

Yes that's me, a quiltoholic. I need something to enable me to finish one before starting another. It seems the only ones getting finished these days are gifts with time limits, like births or BD's

dublb 09-12-2010 04:36 PM

Hi, I'm Bev & I'm not a quiltaholic! I do NOT have 3 or 4 UFOs. I do NOT have 2 WIPs. I do NOT have 200 or 300 ideas. I do NOT have fabric all over my house. I do NOT have boxes of fabric in storage & my DD did not put it there. I do NOT have 5 sewing machines ( OK only 3 'cause I gave 2 to DD.) And if I do I don't want a cure.
