I was wondering who uses quilter's cards such as the two shown here. I love to send cards and I am a Quilter...go figure. LOL Just wondering how many out there look for quilting cards to send with their sales or just to say hi. Does it go that far for you? I see them online but don't want to pay shipping. Oh where, oh where can we find them?

Just a couple. I've seen plenty. Laurel Burch on top.

I've never seen them, but I love them. I love looking for quilting and fancy cards.

shawnemily 07-13-2011 08:19 AM

You can make your own on the computer. Even use a picture of one of your favorite projects!! That would make them very personal!!

ewecansew 07-13-2011 08:21 AM

Sometimes we have them locally at one of the specialty gift shops. I love getting them.

QuiltnCowgirl 07-13-2011 08:21 AM

Debbie - those are pretty! However, right now I am using the horse notecards that you gave me :D

QuiltnNan 07-13-2011 08:23 AM

i haven't seen them. seems that a large LQS should carry them. i love the DWR one

Jennifer22206 07-13-2011 08:24 AM

I have digitally designed my own cards with Zazzle.

MrsM 07-13-2011 08:26 AM

I have recieved most of my boxes of cards as gifts from friends. I love to send them to fellow quilters or those who appriciate them.

Great idea too, NP3 has sent me cards with beautiful pictures on the front. Quilts would work. And my quilts will personalize it.

Thanks for all ther ideas. Guess I will be looking for cardstock this weekend. ♥♥

Jennifer22206 07-13-2011 08:36 AM

Thanks! :) Know what - I'll see what I can do about making some quilting themed ones. It'll take a few days, I can only work on them an hour or two each night.

I'll make them into a PDF file that ya'll can print at home if you'd like. You'd just need cardstock for your printer (and a color printer)

And to mention, the musical cards are fun too, though not quilty.....unless you count Betty Boop as quilty,. Lots of ideas. Glad I posted this. Will keep checking here .

When I did the Shop Hop to find the "bunny" on the internet, I found a few stores around the country with gift departments. I found some really neat stuff! One of our LQS does carry quilt cards. Don't forget "Google".

Jenn - seriously, you spend way too many hours making your designs with your fairies and things. I am always amazed at the scrapping and such people do. NP3 makes a great scrap book and GRamma mo too. Lots of us for that matter. YOu are a dear. Hope your little one is still loving her quilty. I have her picture. Love her nickname too. LOL

Your avatar is georgeous. Wow. I will google too. Maybe on sale and free if you buy more. Now that would be a sale. Yup...

Jennifer22206 07-13-2011 08:42 AM

Miss Mayhem??? She can't go to sleep without her hugs quilt and the quick Dora one I made her. (It's just a yard of fabric, selvedges cut off quickly quilted and "birthed") Those are "my favorites, I need DOWWA and MY HUGS" to quote Mayhem. :D

I'll get a couple cards done, I think I can do it anyway!

I agree with you. I have been a card sender all my life. SO when I get them, they hang around my room a while then go into a box I keep them in. I always look thru them too. I love to read them and it brings to mind what we were doing then and there. I would think anyone who got a card would just have to keep it. My youngest dd.....reads it, out it goes. DOn't know where she gets those genes from. LOL

debbieumphress 07-13-2011 08:44 AM

Ms Mayhem. I have that picture and she is just too cute cuddled up. YOu should post that picture too. I didn't because some don't like pics of kids here. I have color printer, will get some card stock. I am thinking I have some. Will ask NP3 when she gets home. LOL. SHe knows my rooms better than me now. SO funny.
Thank you everyone.♥♥

When the quilts from Gees Bend were shown here they sold notecards with the quilts on them. I bought a few boxes and I think I'm down to my last 3 cards. I love to send & receive cards. I keep looking for more "quilty" cards; can't seem to find any. Love the ones you showed and can't wait to see what you super-talented ladies come up with!

debbieumphress 07-13-2011 10:21 AM

janRN - I agree, I am waiting anxiously myself. Have pictures made on regular picture stock ans use them. Retreat pictures or gathering QB members pictures would be awesome too. Lots of ideas.

QuiltE 07-13-2011 02:33 PM

I have the same ones as your DWR ones. Nicely embossed. Also another set in a different pattern. They were very expensive, so they only get used for someone who will truly appreciate them!

I'm making some with pics I've taken of the quilts, and will have a description on the back of the card with another related picture of a close up or perhaps the back of the quilt if it is interesting.

jaciqltznok 07-13-2011 02:37 PM

there are several NEW lines coming out..somebody must sell them!

I can order them, but have to tell you..they are really pricey..so I only do "special orders" on them!

pocoellie 07-13-2011 04:22 PM

We have a little store that sells a few cards that are "quilt related", but they're quite pricey. I bought one last year, it was $4.00.

blueangel 07-13-2011 06:48 PM

Very pretty

Dianemarie 07-13-2011 07:04 PM

I love them too. I usually find them in quilt shops or specialty card shops. Also in Quilt Magazines sometimes they have an online shop you can investigate.

lclang 07-13-2011 07:13 PM

I did a demonstration of making postcards with scrap fabric at a quilt show and one man spent probably half an hour watching. He thought it was the most fascinating thing he had ever seen! Just couldn't wrap his mind around making postcards on a sewing machine! They make nice greeting cards for many occasions. I used lots of fancy fabrics and ribbons and braids as well as occasional sequins and beads.

ghostrider 07-13-2011 08:13 PM

I've been making quilt block Christmas cards for over 10 years now and will start selling blank ones soon. They're fabric, not printed. Here's a sampling.

I would love to know when you sell them here. Thanks for sharing. The ones you show are really nice. Blanks are good too.

Caroljoy 07-14-2011 02:36 AM

Sometimes you find them at a quilt shop. I have some but can't bring myself to part with them after I buy them! 8-)

plainpat 07-14-2011 02:48 AM

I love cards, & would love to make them.Where do you buy card stock?

I'm lucky enough to live about 2 hours away from Houston. So, I attend the International Quilt Festival every year. Several booths have the neatest cards; but they are pricey like said. I also make my own cards with fabric. guess I need to print out some of my quilty graphics on cardstock.

Mommomjoann 07-14-2011 03:37 AM

Amish Fabric Barn, Lancaster, Pa. they have them on three large spindles as you walk in. They are so pretty , and so nice to give as gifts too!

Silver Sandy 07-14-2011 04:11 AM

I have seen them in many Quilt stores and on line. And yes, you could make them using a picture of a block or a quilt you have made.

Jennifer22206 07-14-2011 04:15 AM

you can get card stock at pretty much any store, walmart, target, ac moore, joanns. all cardstock is, is a thicker paper

Lucky 07-14-2011 05:41 AM

Amy Bradley has some really fun cards. You can find them on her web site. Just Google Amy Bradley

quiltaroni 07-14-2011 05:48 AM

Those cards are really nice, would they be too hard to try for a computer novice type?

quiltingfan 07-14-2011 05:54 AM

If I saw those I would have to buy them. Love them that is for sure.

pinebeltquilter 07-14-2011 05:54 AM

Yes, I use Quilter cards whenever I can find them, usually at Quilt shows the vendors will have some.

However, some love photos of kids. We all started out as one, huh? :-D :-D

Maggiemay 07-14-2011 06:03 AM

I have the DWR cards in your picture too! I got them at a quilt show. I have some others that I have found at quilt shops. Elenor Burns had a decent collection at her booth at the Road to CA quilt show this year. Love quilty cards!
