The mat is very nice. The cutter glides on it. The only marks on it are from other cutters that you have to put pressure on to cut.

I too love Martelli products, but can not get adjusted to the cutter??? I have quite a few different cutters and I just use one until it is not making me happy and switch to a different one. I also have a Kai that I struggle getting the right angle to cut with!

I love my QS cutter. I use my left hand for trimming my fabric before I start cutting, but do most of my cutting with my right hand. I love that my QS cutter can be used with either hand without turning the blade. Makes life so simple. And I love the weight of the cutter. It is expensive, but well worth the cost.

I tried the Martelli, yes there is a learning curve, but the little spring broke in mine within 2 months. I tried out the the QS at the quilt shop and fell in love. That cutter along with their ruler was like cutting through soft butter. I haven't tried the mat, but love the rulers. I will save up for the cutter, as it is a bit pricey.$60 I think she said.

Martelli is wonderful to work with, contact them and they will either repair or replace your broken cutter!

I have both...….as I LOVE the Quilters Select rulers! However, it is MARTELLI - hands-down that wins the rotary cutter challenge!! One absolutely DOES have to watch their videos and learn how to CORRECTLY use the cutter. The negative comments I have found have always been from individuals that are not using them or holding them correctly...……..Just my observation......Their blades are the sharpest as well...……….and BTW they have a 50% off sale that starts on WED 7-4-18...….includes rotary cutters and blades...everything except their Janome machines and longarms……….

I have both & like them. With the sale I would get the Martelli. If you get to a show or a quilt shop that has Quilters Select try it out there.

I was at the Reno quilt show last week. Women were bringing in old Martelli cutters and they were replaced for $12.50. As they improve their tool, they incourage you to replace it at gat I think was half price. This does have a new blade in it.
Anyone with a busted cutter should contact them.

I absolutely love my Martelli cutter. Wouldn't trade it for the world. I do have a QS ruler that I also am crazy about. It is definitely no slip. I have shown to quilters in the guild and the first thing they say is "Where did you get that? I want one!"

Love my Martelli cutters! I have the 45 and 60. If I could only get one it would be the 60. Let us know what you decide.
