Quilters Select

Has anyone tried their rulers? What is your favorite ruler?

IrishNY 12-09-2020 07:19 PM

These. Quilters Select. I won't use anything else. I highly recommend them!

SusieQOH 12-09-2020 07:35 PM

I love their rulers. In my opinion they're the best. I also have a QS cutting mat. Awesome!

I am a Creative Grids fan. I used a friend’s Quilters Select rulers and found I REALLY liked them. If I didn’t have so many CG rulers I would definitely consider switching. I think sticking to one brand is a good policy.

These are my go to rulers, IMHO they are simply the very best!

EIQuilter 12-10-2020 04:41 AM

Love the rulers. I use the 8-1/2"x24" the most, but they all get used often. I have several specialty rulers (Deb Tucker rulers), and I spray Grippy on the back to give them a similar non-slip surface. It's great stuff.

Macybaby 12-10-2020 04:45 AM

I've not tried many of the rulers, but love their rotary cutter. It's spendy, but I've found it to be the most easy to use, and prefer it over all my others (and I have quite a selection of them).

I love them. They’re pricey, but they are non-slip and I like the thinner lines. At one point this past year they went on sale and I also had a discount code that took another bit off everything in my order so I took that opportunity to replace my old, most used rulers with them.

I like their 8 1/2” x 24” long ruler for squaring up quilts.

Don’t hesitate. I like my 6x24 ruler so much I bought another for our church quilting room. They were happy it’s staying permanently.

I bought a small (2.5" x 2.5") Quilters Select ruler for working with small pieces, and I love it! The thin lines make it much easier to be accurate. I plan to replace my larger Creative Grids rulers with the Quilter Select at some point.

Over the past couple of years, I have replaced all my rulers with Quilter's Select. I love them and so does my BFF!

oh, I am still using all my Omigrid rulers....both the old yellow lined ones and the newer green ones.....I just have way to much invested in them to start all over. I have heard the most important thing is to be consistent in what rulers you are using as some manufacturers may have a slightly different approach as to where exactly they place their measuring lines. I don't know that I have found that much of a difference in the other brands I have a ruler or two of. If I had to start all over again, Omigrid would still be in the running but there are many fine rulers out there. I have just gotten some Angela Walters/creative grid rulers for my ruler work, and I like them to as they have more markings on them for placement than some of the other long-arm rulers I have.

I'd say it's entirely personal preference, and I would start with 1 Quilter's Select ruler in a size you reach for often to decide.

I was looking to replace one of my rulers and tried a QS version of it. Didn't care for it - I found the fine markings and the color more difficult to read than others. I then tried the Creative Grids version and loved it and have purchased CG rulers for any I've needed since then.

Where do you buy the Quilters Select products? I have long wanted to try these.

Onebyone 12-10-2020 08:25 AM

I love Quilter's Select rulers. They are so easy to read and non slip. You can make any ruler non slip by spraying a no slip coating on the back. It's fantastic for all the older rulers. I have a lot of Missouri Star rulers and templates and this stuff is wonderful. It's great for machine quilting rulers too. No extra thickness on the ruler.

Odif Non Slip Coating. It dries in about a minute. Lint and thread will wipe off. Also get the Odif Glue Cleaner spray. It takes the sticky off scissors, rulers, etc. I always have these two products in my sewing room.

Love my QS rulers...when I need to replace an old ruler, I shop for Quilters Select

SallyS 12-10-2020 09:49 AM

I think the QS rulers are the best, too. Their non-slip feature has saved me lots of aggravation. If they weren't so expensive I'd replace all my others. The ones I have and use almost exclusively are 3 x 12 , 3 x 18 and 6 x 24. I don't do a lot of piecing or I would get more. Well worth the price.

I put a shower handle on the 6 x 24 and I like that, too. It's the one I use most.

Bless the day I bought my first Creative Grids!

Onebyone 12-10-2020 02:14 PM

I bought the QS round hand holder that sticks to the rulers. It's worth it. It does not pop off until you take it off. Great for the smaller rulers and templates for safety.

ctrysass2012 12-10-2020 06:46 PM

I have quite a few of the rulers 2 sizes of cutting mat & the rotary cutter. Love them all. The cutters are used at my favorite quite shop. They sell the rulers. The Fat Quarter Shop, The Quilt Show are a couple of places that sell them. The Quilt Show can have specials on them. Best thing I did was to get these rulers.

Snooze2978 12-11-2020 07:47 AM

I love these rulers since I got my 1st one. Now as my old rulers start to get chipped, cracked, etc I've been ordering the Quilters Select to replace them when I can find them on sale. I like Creative Grid rulers too but Quilters Select are my favorite now.

Dolphyngyrl 12-11-2020 09:57 AM

Haven't tried their rulers yet but really enjoying their 80wt thread right now

cashs_mom 12-11-2020 01:54 PM

I love my Quilter's Select. I have the 6" x 24" ruler now and plan to replace all my other with Quilter's Select as I can.

Onebyone 12-12-2020 05:41 AM

I have replaced my cutting mat and rotary cutter with Quilter's Select too. The cutting mat is nothing like I have used before. It has a thin layer of memory foam between the layers and the finish is smooth as glass. I bought a small one to try and now have the biggest one. The cutter is weighted so not much pressure at all is needed to cut. I have liked all the QS products I have used. Love the thread too.

Lyncat 12-12-2020 06:08 AM

I’m slowly replacing all my favorite rulers whenever I have a discount coupon. I use my 12.5” square and 6x24 the most.

maryb119 12-12-2020 04:42 PM

They are my favorite ones to use.
