After a career in software development, where TLAs (Three Letter Acronyms) are impossible to avoid, I've been enjoying learning all the quilting jargon and acronyms. Couldn't resist putting some into a poem (I ask your forgiveness in advance!)



A Quilter's Tale of Woe

I really needed a FART, but DH wouldn't help.
He said "you'll have to take care of that by yourself"
So, I pulled out my WIP and threatened him with it …
He folded: "OK, OK, the LQS we shall visit!"
As I walked in the door, I felt immediate relief:
The colors, the cottons, the gorgeous batiks!

My SEX was almost as good as …. well, sex!
But heading home, I was feeling perplexed:
It was clear that more FARTs were already pending!
You don't need a PHD to know I'll keep spending,
But as quilters yourselves, I doubt you'll be shocked:
I've resigned myself to a life being "blocked".
