Can anyone tell me where to find the form for a "quilter's will?"
I had printed it from the internet once a long time ago. Of course now that I'd like to fill it out and put it where it can be found whenever necessary, it's nowhere in the house. I'm not on my deathbed, don't worry. A couple of my quilty friends and I were talking about what on earth would happen to all of our treasured quilting stuff when the "time" comes. (we're all of a certain age) I think DH would just give it all to the thrift shop if they'd come clear out the room for him. But I'd rather certain things went to certain people. Sure I could just leave a note, but I KNOW there is a form somewhere. Anyone know where? :lol:

Thanks so much, but that's where I went first. The will is more like a novelty thing. It's not for the serious person, I don't think. I want something more realistic that gives me spaces for itemizing, etc. That's what the one I had was like.

Oh my gosh. . I never thought of that. Just like people who think they should pay $5.00 for a hand made quilt would have no idea what it really is worth, same with my husband. He would proably just toss any fabric. :)

Why can't you just include it in your main will as my attorney stated to me that you can word it how you want to give things to others. Wow! a Quilters Will!

I don't even have a main will. I guess my will would be to let my DH give away whatever he saw fit and keep whatever he wanted. I'm sure he knows that. I haven't got much of value. My girls all know they can divvy up any jewelry they want. I have a few pieces of pottery and/or silver, crystal, etc. that were my Mom's and the girls can devide those things. All the rest is mine and my hubby's. The only stuff I really worry about is all the things I have accumulated over many years of sewing and quilting. Think of it ladies! How many yards and yards of stash do you have? How many rulers and tools? What about your sewing machines, and patterns? Do you want it all to go to thrift shops? Do you want it to go into a garage sale, to be bought for pennies when you paid so much for your expensive quilting fabrics? I'd rather have it given to serious quilters and quilting friends, also to my guild. My girls don't sew AT ALL. They wouldn't have any use for my three Janomes. What about my cutting table and oversized ironing board? Oh well, deep sigh ... it's depressing to think about. I'd better quit.

well Bev, if you are concerned about them having a good home, you can avoid the heartache from heaven and just send them to me now. I will take very good care of them.
