Quilting books I purchased

Last week I went to Tuesday Morning to kill a little time
before I could pick up my dinner order.

As I wandered through the store I happened upon their
book section. Low and behold I found EIGHT (yes 8!)
quilting books for $2.50 each. All total these 8 books
would have cost me close to $200 if I had gotten them
in a regular store.

I am at work right now, but will post pictures of all the
books when I get a chance.

I have found some great quilting buys at TM. Some I've never seen before. I bought the Quilting Piping Wizard on clearance for $4.99 I had no idea what it was but it was expensive when I checked online for the price matching ($19- $30) so of course I had to buy it.

BellaBoo - I have found MANY sewing/quilting items at TM at great prices.
One of my other purchases from there was the Dritz "Iron Off" cleaner at
.99 each BIG bargain considering the last (prior to buying at TM) it cost me
nearly $7 for 1 tube.

I have gotten templates and all sorts of stuff there.

Got a Dritz magnetic pin dispenser (see image below) for $1.99.

I don't have any very close here. I need to check them out when I get close to one.
You sure got a great deal on the quilt books.

Here are photos of the books I purchased at Tuesday Morning.
When I was there the other day they still had several copies of
about 3-5 of these books, but I can't remember which ones now.

Congrats. I think I got one or two of those at TM also recently. I love browsing in there because it is like a treasure hunt. You never know what they will have on any given day.

Trisher 12-29-2013 02:19 PM

Pardon me but what is "Tuesday Morning"?

If you go to www.tuesdaymorning.com it will tell you all about it with a store locator. It is a place that collects close outs from places at good prices. It is hit or miss but fun to browse

I stop by TM fairly regularly just to see what they have. I've found some really good deals on quilting items, most recently a roll of batting for $89. I've also found some really nice baby items, comparable to what I've seen in higher end department stores. We've had lots of babies born to fellow employees lately. Most of them I don't know well enough to give a quilt so this has been a lifesaver for all the baby showers.

Louise, you found some really nice books. Haven't seen those titles in my store.

BellaBoo 12-29-2013 06:05 PM

Tuesday Mornings buy out high end dept store overstocks and clearance items. You never know what will be in the store, each store gets a lot of different stock. Big Lots buys Tuesday Mornings clearance and close outs too, each of the closeout stores all have different stock for the most part.

Great score! Some of my best quilting finds have come from Tuesday Morning. I haven't been in a while, I might have to go check mine out just to see what they have.

I love TM. If you have time to look, you will always find a great buy. Congratulations on your find.

Yes I was going to ask what "Tuesday Morning" is as well. Have never heard of it. I'd like a chance to score a great haul like that as well!

I love Tuesday Morning! I would have scooped up all those books, too! My best find was packs of fat quarters. I don't remember exactly how much they were, but seems like there were six fq's to the package for about $4 a package ... and the quality was pretty good, not the best but certainly not the worst.

I found a "Gee's Bend" quilt kit at Tuesday Morning last year for under $20.00. I hadn't been back for awhile and when I went there just before Christmas, they were gone. So sad. I don't think there is another near me.

Awesome score!! I have the Homecoming from Debbie Mumm. Not taht I've made anything from it- yet. ;)

CookyIN 12-30-2013 09:18 AM

Oooh, that Debbie Mumm book looks wonderful. I'd better buzz by my local TM today and see if they have it. Thanks for the heads up and congratulations on your score!

nygal 12-30-2013 09:27 AM

Wow they all look like great books!!

Quilty-Louise 12-30-2013 09:42 AM

I am not sure but I THINK they still had a copy or two of the Debbie Mumm
book.
Let me know if you would like for me to check to see if there are any left.

Your luck was better than mine! My local TM only had one similar Quilt book -- for $6.99. I even remembered to check the clearance section at the back of the store. Oh well, that's what makes "the chase" so much fun! Just a thought... at $2.50 I'd pick up a few books for Swaps or Secret Santa opportunities that come along.

Thanks for the sweet thought, but that's okay. I accumulate books like -- well, I don't know what. They just seem to follow me home from yard sales, church sales, library sales. I'm sure this one will find its way to me at some point!

I am super spoiled...my Tuesday Morning is next door to JoAnn Fabrics! Dangerous....
