I love to be with others too especially as I live alone. But I do all my work on the machine and avoid hand work like the plague so it's hard to work with others. I have a sewing room that is bright and cheerful upstairs and everything can stay set up unless guests are coming. So I get lots done in short chucks of time and love that aspect. Guess it's a trade off but wish I had a buddy to work by machine close.

I love to piece mostly on my own but love to get with people to talk ideas out. That is why I love the board. I can. Come here to talk out my problems with a pattern stumping me. Would love it in "real" time face to face but the next best thing is this board.

I do most of mine alone...I am part of a g roup at the senior center, but they start at 0900 and I am NOT a morning person, so do not get there as often as I would like. They are a great group of ladies and I do love being there with them. Probably will get there more in summer when days are longer.

I like groups to socialize, but often make dumb mistakes because I'm running my mouth instead of my brain! At home I concentrate and actually learn more and sew better.

Love the bonding with others and the ideas to motivate me. Once I start something I'm okay going it alone to finish it. The friendship is the best part.

I think that the social apsect of quilting groups is essential to keeping our creative juices flowing. But give me a week in the sewing room with no phone calls or interruptions. I hope that it is possible to have both. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

I like the solitude of my sewing room. Love getting together with my two quilting friends for show and tell, fabric hunting and lunch out. That always jump starts me and gets me back into the sewing room if I've wandered away too long. Tried a quilting guild for five or more years. Not my thing at all for many reasons. The QB I just love and the new friends I've made. Happy Holidays everyone.

Sorry, I am a lonely only when it comes to the sewing machine, athough sometimes hubby ventures in to the sewing room just to make sure I didn't sneak off!!:)

I am a lone quilter - I have friends who quilt and we get together every once in a while -but I really enjoy just me and my machine (and my dogs and my computer) - I get more done when I am alone and I try new techniques, etc. Just my preference.

I like both, though if I have a lot to do, I prefer solo. I do like the social aspects and the availability of help for a new technique, but I did notice that in some classes or some retreats, it sometimes becomes an unintentional contest to see who gets the farthest with the project.
