Hi everyone, I am thinking about buying a quilting cutter. I see that there are 2 cutters out there 1 is the accuquilt, and 2 is the quiltcut 2. I'm thinking about the quiltcut 2 because of the odd size cutting. One has dies the other doesn't. I am looking to cut odd sizes(1/4- 3/8). Tell me which one you have and are you happy with it. Thanks Lorie

I don't have either, but most have the accuquilt & love it! If you go to the top - Search - put in accuquilt, there's toons of threads on it.

I have the Quiltcut2, and love it. One thing about it vs. the other, is that you can cut any shapes or sizes, and are not limited to specific dyes. It's fast, easy and does exactly what they show it does. I really like it, and find it's very accurate. And, it's a one time outlay of money, not an ongoing investment. I can say I've had mine about 3 years, and only use it for cutting. I do think it won't be long and I might consider replacing the matt as it's showing a bit of wear now.

I did look into purchasing the other, and decided against it for a couple of reasons: ongoing investments in dyes, inaccurate dyes (see below) and handle is hard for me to turn with more than 2 layers of fabric. I researched the tool, and as part of that, joined the Yahoo Group for it. There were many, many complaints on there about inaccurate dye cuts. That alone was enough to steer me away, especially for the cost. Surely that is no longer the case, but it was when I did my research. I would recommend joining this group to get current owner's perspective on the tool.

Sorry, I'm no help to you at all. I know many people love their cutters, both of them, and each tool has good and bad points. I guess you have to decide which points are more important for you and the way you work.

I have both and use both. I use the Accucut Go more then the QuiltCut2. The dies for the Go are all basic size for most quilts. You can use one die shape to cut another shape an so forth. I've never had a problem of inaccurate cutting using the Go. The handle is very easy to turn for me. I keep the Go on a low table so my arm doesn't have to be lifted up to cut. that makes a big difference. I really like the Go and would buy it again. The Quilt Cut I never got the hang of and I have a hard time getting the exact same size at every cut. And it's extremely heavy so it's not portable. The mat is great and the fabric holder is great.
