Quilting designs to use with embroidery machine.

What I'm looking for seems fairly simple. And it seems others would want it too. But so far I'm not having any luck scouring the internet.
I just want some kid related quilting designs that I can import to my Memory Craft 12000 and use in about a 6 inch block.
Something like a truck, or a doll, etc.
Not embroidery. Just a single line design.
Anyone know where to get such a thing?

Try looking at redwork designs. They are not quilting per se, but they are single line designs. Google "machine redwork children designs"

Mother Hen embroideries has lots of quilt designs, but don't know if they have any kids'

Have a look at the Embroidery Library, they have so many designs there

I had a set similar to these and did 5" embroidery on 8" raggy squares.

Oh Great. I think that will work. Now to figure out the logistics of getting a design to my machine.

Try. Www.quiltingstencils.com. They have several disks of single line design cd's for quilting on the embroidery machine

Check designsbyjuju.com. Lots of kid stuff

Children's coloring books are a great source of designs

I had to buy Ped Basic to do anything with my embroidery machine. It uses a card not a disk.
Downloaded some really simple red work teddy bears, nursery rhyme figures, and some designs for more adult blocks.
It has been awhile so don't remember where I found them but did use designs by Juju also.

Fivestarfonts.com has great kid designs

http://www.emblibrary.com/EL/Browse....Designs+-+Full

There are 73 pages of designs here--with 20 designs on each page in all sizes. Single or double run. Check them out. Plus, they have a whole bunch of children's designs, but not so many redwork/kids'. But at least take a look.

What is PedBasic? Sounds like something I'd be interested in.

sval 01-07-2014 02:04 PM

Thanks. I found that site this morning. I found a bunch that look like they would fit into my quilts. Just having lots of trouble downloading the proper format and then moving it on to the sewing machine.
The Redwork is a bit heavy. I'd really prefer single run quilting designs. I only make donation quilts. So the pattens I use need something in about a 6" block in between a four patch. Things like that.

I use Embroidery Library but I also like www.embroiderydesigns.com very well. They carry designs from a lot of different designers and companies, like Dakota and Great Notions, but they have sales frequently. They also have a large section freebies so you can download and try different designers work.

It's a Brother card & reader/writer box for transferring designs from computer to the card, then hence to your machine. For machines that use .pes format. Can usually find for about $100 + or -.

sval 01-08-2014 04:43 AM

Those are wonderful. I tried a Redwork design yesterday that somehow I managed to download and transfer to my machine. I'm not sure I can do it again. I just sort of lucked into it. It's a bit heavy as it sewed the design 3 times. But it's the best I've found so far. Thanks for finding those for me. I'm assuming you buy them once and they're yours forever?

sval 01-08-2014 04:50 AM

Wow. If I did want to embroider, that's the site to go to. What an extensive line of designs!

sval 01-08-2014 05:09 AM

Holy cow. If you can't find something you like on that site, you must be mighty hard to please. There are so many pages to look at.

romanojg 01-08-2014 01:23 PM

There are tons of quilting designs for emb machines, emblibrary.com has them, hatchedinafrica.com has them and lots of the sites on oregonpatch.com have them. Most designs will stitch out just an outline without the details if you want. You just have to control the color change stops and figure out which ones you want to run and which ones you don't. Outline designs are great for raq quilts instead of the standard X in the middle

Stitch Delight has some very nice quilting and redwork designs. I have many of her sets and LOVE them!!!!

Skittl1321 01-08-2014 05:14 PM

Leah Day just released a fabulous collection.

PaperPrincess 01-09-2014 07:21 AM

I had forgotten about this site:
http://www.stitchdelight.net/products.asp?cat=122
If you click on the $3 redwork, you will see hundreds of sets (they are all sets, not single designs!) and they are all $1.
They are redwork, but not heavy. Here's an example of a quilt I did:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...es-t85291.html
I would purchase one set and see how they work for you.

Jamiestitcher62 01-09-2014 09:39 AM

Try www.emblibrary.com. I get most of my quilting patterns there.
