Quilting frame query

I have a 10ft quilting frame and a quilt larger than that to finish. Can I put half of the quilt out and ready to quilt leaving the other half folded at the side?
In my mind it would work but not sure it would in. Reality.

I thought of quilting using he floating method so only fastened at top. It is a present or my brother and wife which they have been waiting for a few years.

In anticipation of replies thank you for he time.

You can quilt it in sections. Marti Michell's book, Machine Quilting in Sections, has several ways of accomplishing that.

Thank you Dunsterhouse. Unfortunately that is the way I usually do my quilts. This is a madallion in the centre and was made before I discovered sectioning quilts. And it all together .

I have just found a site Fancy quilt blog and also leah day site which divides the quilt into se tions and you quilt one section at a time and plan your fill in patterns. Will try.
