Quilting frames

I have the Pfaff Hobby 1200 Grand Quilter and am thinking about the Grace frame or Joy frame. Does anyone have this machine on either of these frames? What other frame is it on? Pros and Cons, please.

I'll be watching and dreaming about what you get. I've looked at the machine- used. I liked it. I think I would go with a metal frame if it was available.

Check with the Grace Company to be sure their frame and your machine are compatible before you buy. Not familiar with Joy frames but do the same with that company too.

I had the Pfaff Grand Quilter on my Hinterberg frame. Worked fine and was happy with it and the frame. Only changed machines when I decided to go with a Voyager 17.

Are you referring to the New Joy frames? I had a New Joy Gold frame. It was very lightweight. Works okay with a DSM. My only issue with it was that I could feel the center seam in the frame as I quilted through that section, and I always ended up with a small blip in my quilting at that spot. My husband tried and tried to even that seam out but was never able to.

I have a Pffaf GrandQuilter also and it came with the Inspira frame. It fits on the frame nicely. My only problem is that I have moved and don't have room to set it up now. Bummer!!!

I have the same set-up!! And I'm a Linda too!! I will be using my Pfaff on an Aluminum Quilting Frame by The Grace Company. Just got it set up!! Question for experienced owners, the plastic track is broken. Is there a way at use narrow metal tubing in place of it? Saw were the lady on Quilting Tizzy replaced her's with it; only she used a wooded set-up on a table top. Thanks for the help. This is going to be fun meeting new people. :)

The grace frame Yahoo group has members who have replaced the plastic track with stainless steel rods. You may want to check it out. They seemed to like it.

Yes you can replace the broken plastic track....we went to a welding supply company and purchased 1/4 inch stainless steel welding rod and it works perfectly in place of the plastic. I have a GMC Pro frame several years old and it makes it so much smoother. We bought three pieces so that we could replace the tracks on the platform as well as the long tracks on the table....strapped it to the side of our pick-up so that we could bring it home all in long pieces!
