Is anyone familiar with the Little Gracie 2 quilting frames. We purchased one about 2 months ago. Like it but need a little advise. I would like to get some feedback on how others like it. I'm the piecer. DH is the mechanic gone quilter since being forced into retirement. That's another subject another board.

okie, I don't know what your question is but call the Gracie company. They are super to work with and no question is ever a bother. Great company! Skeat.....who has the Gracie II on my list next!

I would love to have a little gracie 2 frame, but I have no room. I just got a John Flynn quilting frame. Waiting for my day off to try it. Someday maybe I will have a room for my quilting, til then I can dream. :lol:

Believe this or not, ours is in the living room. We never use that room and we don't have company. (Formal) What's so funny is when our kids come over or any of the family they gather in my computer/sewing room. We have a large family room but everyone seems to go to that room; averge size room. They know when I'm home that's where I am. If I could get by with it, I'd take out the kitchen, but that might be taking things too far. I haven't tried to us it yet. My passion is machine embroidery and quilt piecing so when I'm home that's what I want to do. Someday I will try my hand at the frames. HAPPY QUILTING

I personally haven't but my DH has. In fact he is setting up one right now. He is just taking yardage of fabric and quilting. He is using the templates that are continuous. We just did a small baby quilt and it turned out pretty good. I did machine embroidery on the quilt and he quilted it in about 30 min. If you had asked me a year ago if my DH would be quilting I would have had to laugh. 38 years and he still surprises me. When I get a pieced quilt done I want to learn. I'm a little more detailed. He has done 2 yardage full size quilts and they look pretty good. I'm just going to put a binding on them, no border.
I don't regret the purchase. Of course we added more as we went along. First we purchased a quality leader set, and then a stitch regulator. Not cheap. But it sure beats having to send a quilt out.
In time we both might be able to call ourselves professional. Ha. One step at a time I'm still learning to do more complicated quilting. The one quilt I want to make before I get too old is The Crown of Thorns by Judy Niemeyer in batiks. That will be my master piece. I should be an advanced quilter by the time I get it made. I better stop I could write a book. I love to talk or type with people who have the same interests I do.

What type of sewing machine are you using on your Grace Quilting Frame?

We are using a Babylock Quilt Pro. I have 2 emboridery machines by babylock and have been very pleased with them.

I use a Janome 1600P on my Gracie II. The machine and frame are great, but the person running the show needs much more practice........ (heh! heh!)

How true DH does pretty good with the Pantographs. I want to learn how to do more detail work but I'm too busy working a full time job + and piecing. I know you can't use a pattern more than 4 in in size. In time I will learn. DH has a bad hand so detailing is hard on his hand.

He can make a mean quilt with a piece of fabric, batting and backing.
