Quilting - Front page Wall Street Journal
Ok...so i'm sitting here browsing through the Board when my husband comes in with the Feb 1-2 weekender Wall Street Journal and slaps it down on my desk and says..."Hey...i'd like to retire...stop doing that (browsing the Board) and do THIS"! There is a great article about Jenny Doan and Missouri Star Quilt Co. and her video/store "empire" - from start up til now.
I guess i should be flattered that he thinks i've got that ability in me!:) |
Wall Street Journal costs money that could be spent on quilting.

Great story in the Journal. One of those "gee, I wish I'd thought of that first" moments.
|
I just googled the article. Very nice. Thanks for letting us know.
|
So find an article about a man turning his hobby into a business and tell your husband you want to retire too, LOL.
|
I would also take it as a compliment! I don't get much feedback since I give my quilts to anonymous charitable organizations. So if anyone suggested out of the blue that *I* could do what Jenny & her family have done I would be thrilled!

Great article!

Thank you for telling us about the article. I enjoyed reading it. Jenny and her tutorials are great. Living in Missouri,
I have visited their store, but not the new addition of sleeping/quilting quarters yet. She is usually visible and gracious when you visit their store. |
Quilting as the article proves is a growing business. Also proves it isn't just a necessary craft but an art. I'm not sure how long the quilt shops have been in town but we have quite a few. Some sell material mostly and some sell the machines mainly. I'm always material shopping.
