My guild has you make a name tag to wear to the meetings. At the end of our meetings, they draw for door prizes - usually fat quarters and you don't get one unless you are wearing your nametag, if your name is picked. Each one is different, so that's neat to see each time you see a member.

I was told that in the guild I'm planning to join, the name tag must have three layers - and pretty much anything goes. There is one cute one which is layered and quilted with no binding that says "Another UFO" above her name.

My quilt guild gives all new members a pre-quilted muslin "chatelaine" and the binding. You put your name and any quilting pins or whatever on it and wear them during meetings. The fat quarter drawing at the end of the meeting is only for those wearing their chatelaine (and name tag!)
