Quilting Ideas for Spiral Table Runners?

So far, I have stitched in the ditch or used a decorative wavy stitch following the strips on the spiral table runners. Have any of you made these table runners? If so, what kind of quilting did you do?

Is it the spicy spiral table runner that looks like an S? I think SITD would be fine or follow the wave motion down the runner.

Yes, it is. I have done a few and I wanted to try something different :o. I have three more to finish up.

You could practice different FMQ designs in each section if you want something different. How about stitching in the ditch but bumping it along the separate coloured segments kind of like stair steps? How about putting a funky design fabric on the back and quilt around the back designs?

I've done mine with a scroll-like FM quilting to mimic the quilt.

I've only done loops down the length of each spiral. I had to change color 4 times on the one that's on the machine now. The loops get smaller or larger depending on the size of the fabric piece it passes over.

This is my first attempt to upload a picture to this forum...okay...on this runner, I used straight stitching and followed the curves of the runner...that would be different from SID and the wavy stitch I used on other runners. I could not find a photo of one with the wavy stitching. Hope this shows up in the reply.

I'm not sure if you can see the stitching on these. Both have loops down the length of the runner. These were my first two, so don't look too carefully.

Wow, fantastic wonderful where can I find such a fantastic pattern? I have never seen this technique or pattern before I am absolutely blown away. It's supercalifragalisticexpiealidousus.
