Thanks, everyone, his name is Lucky, btw, LOL. Its just seemed to fit him so well.

Ladies that had the kitties that swallowed thread, thanks for posting that. It's not something you really think about until it happens, is it? And then its too late.

I've actually had to start putting all the thread away, can't leave any on the sewing machine thats uncovered, so I "think" I've got it all, I'm going to double check now, though, you've got me worried!

We had a cat when I was litle that had got a piece of yarn wrapped around its toe, and it had cut down into its skin, etc. and we had to take it to the vet. They yarn was there for maybe a half day or so, and she had to get it cut out and have stitches! So, I can just imagine what thread could do to the insides of one. Thanks for the reminder, although I'm sad to hear you to have go through all that.

Maybe someone else already said this: DO NOT LET YOUR FUR BABIES NEAR THE THREAD...THREAD CAN KILL!

I don't know if you guys remember, but my husband is a coal miner, and he rescued some kittens that the mommy cat had got back in the coal mine and had, miles underground!! Let me find the link......

We wound up keeping 2 of them, of course, and they have turned out beautiful, and make great quilting buddies!

ETA: found it:

You know, its funny how things work out, isn't it? I wouldn't take a million dollars for these kitties now.

Have not read all the posts but went back and read how it all began. What a neat story and it had a wonderful ending. Thanks for sharing pictures. We have a rescue kitty also.

Thank you. I don't think most people realize where their electricity really comes from, or what the coal miners go through to do it.

Its a hard life, but he wouldn't have it any other way. His daddy, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather (and maybe more, LOL) were all coal miners. Not to mention my dad, my grandfather, etc.

I do not want my boys going in the mines, though. That's one of my bigger fears, they are going to finish college and get a nice, quiet, safe job! Its hard, though, my oldest one only sees it as I can work RIGHT NOW instead of in 4 years , you know? Doing what my daddy does. Its been a battle with him, but I'm going to win this one.

My father was in a cave in in 84, he broke his back and hasn't been the same since.

I'm in Love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)

The kitty is adorable, but please don't let him play with thread. My friend's beautiful Himalayan kitty was in her sewing room and was playing with a spool of thread. She got really sick and they took her to the vet. She had unwound and swallowed a bunch of thread. It got wrapped around her intestines. The vet did surgery, but he couldn't save her. Even though kitties love to play with thread, it isn't safe. I would hate for anything to happen to this adorable kitten.
