I have a young friend (8-years-old) who is interested in learning to quilt, and I have voluteered to teach her. We've got a small project planned to start with that she can complete fairly quickly while learning some basic sewing/quilting skills. I'd like to be sure to give her a good, complete "intro" to quilting in general along with her first project.
My question is, does anyone know of any well organized basic quilting lesson resources available on the web? |
Hi, I am a 4-H sewing and quilting leader in my community, and here is the link to a very basic quilting pattern.
http://utah4h.org/files/publications...b__5204632.pdf She will learn all about the 1/4" seam allowance, pressing, borders, just a lot of good basics and hints to set her on the path to making beautiful quilts. |
That sounds like so much fun to teach your young friend. What a treat for you and them. The next generation of quilters. :)

Thanks!
