This is my very first string quilt. It is sewn on muslin and will have batting and backing, so it's fairly heavy and thick. I've been looking at it for several weeks now trying to decide between SID or an overall vine and leaf quilting motif. I would also be open to other ideas. I think I will use black thread. I would appreciate your suggestions on how to quilt this. Thank you.

Yes, an overall vine and leaf! Lovely quilt.

A pantograph would look great on this, the black thread may overpower your quilt. You want subtle so you can see your quilt top. I would use an off what thread, Parchment or Ivory would look great. Can't wait to see your finished quiting. Good job.

I vote for vine and leaf. I like curving lines as opposed to straight lines as in SID.

I have been wanting to try making this quilt! It's a really nice quilt! I would quilt vines..i like curvy if there are a lot of fabric in strips. :))

With so many fabrics I wouldn't do anything fancy just a meander.
