Quilting Mystery
I picked up some fabric at a yard sale on Saturday, including 8 stratas of 20 fabrics (2.5" strips x WOF). I believe the person (whom I found out was an avid quilter who passed away) was going to do a bargello. I would like to complete the project for her but need a pattern.
Any Bargello quilters out there who there who could tell me which pattern would use 8 stratas of 20 fabrics @ 2.5" x width of fabric? |
I wish I could help, Canadiangirl. I would think you could use most any bargello pattern and adapt it to work. I've not made one but have always liked them.

I did a circular bargello. It seems there were maybe that many fabrics. Used a 10 degree ruler for that pattern. Not sure if they were cut that wide. Sorry but I cannot post pics here

There's nothing saying you have to fulfill her intent for those strips. Besides, you could be wrong about what her intent was, and end up spending your time doing something you don't even like doing. There are tons of patterns that use 2.5" strips, many books full of patterns for precuts, all of which would give you ideas for quilt tops. Enjoy planning and creating your quilt!

Go online and look for Bargellos-free patterns. Should be something you can use them for as they are already sewn. Good Luck to you. To be able to complete anothers dream. Good luck and post when complete please.

Many of Donna Jordan's patterns are jelly roll (2 1/2" strip) friendly. I Love her videos.

I googled these on Pinterest. For the Bargello Made Simple by Angela Walters - seems to use 20 strips
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z70yU8MJY6M and this Braided Bargello uses 20 or more (I counted 21) https://www.fabricessentials.com/sho...-x30711381.htm |
I feel so fortunate living here in Grants Pass, just two miles away from Jordan Fabrics. Love that store, always so busy, but never to busy to help with questions.
