My wife, before she pass away had a good way to illustrate her quilting. Basicly there are 3 types: the dragger, made for kids, etc..., the gift, made for friends, family etc.., and the ehibiter, made to display or put in a quilt show. Within each of these groups you have different levels of quilting: freehand overall pattern the least expensive (1 to 1 and1/2 cents per sq inche), panagrapghs (1 and a half to 2 cents per sq inche, and the freehand, the most expensive (2 to 3 cents per sq inche).
Most draggers went with the overall, becuase they knew that they were going to end up taking a lot of ware. The gift generally used the overall (charity) or panagraph. And finally the exhibitor usually wanted original freehand. Hope that this helps some, Lanny |
Great info, Lanny. This will help a lot of people.
