Are there any programs out there that would let me copy and paste picture of fabrics so I can see what they'll look like together before I buy them? I have such a hard time putting them together. I think something will look nice and it flops. That's why I buy a lot of kits since that's already been done for me but sometimes I'd like to do something different.

Fabric.com is set up to do this for you.

When I took my first quitling class, the instructor told us this way to pick fabric - pick out the MAIN piece that you really like, with lots of colors in it. Then hold that fabric up to the rows of fabric in the store and you will see that some OTHER fabrics will just jump out at you, that match the MAIN one so well.....trouble is, you can end up with TOO MANY choices that match.....

My problem is I have to order my fabric online. Our nearest store is 2 hours away.

You can do this in EQ, sort of, but of course it does much more as well. Many fabric manufacturers provide the capability to download their recent collections into EQ, and you can put them into your design.

When you visit a fabric shop online, look for *design wall* icon ... if it's there, then you can check your fabric before purchasing. A lot of the online fabric shops have it now .. HTH ~

If the fabric shop doesn't have a design wall, I save the jpgs in a folder; then open the folder & play with the colors.

If you right click on the fabric swatch online, usually you can save the jpg.

Thanks for this tip Peg. I also have to buy on line and find it really difficult to put fabrics together. I have several fabrics that I know that I will eventually use but not for the block that I bought originally bought them for. Builds up the stash nicely but gets kind of expensive. :lol:
