Just love to make them. Most go to Linus as lots of kids need encouragement.

My quilts are usually sewn for fun....once in a while, with a purpose in mind (such as a baby gift) but mostly for fun because I see fabrics that I have found and would love to make a quilt with them.
As a beginner, I make mine for myself or for charity. I don't feel comfortable giving them as gifts yet.
I quilt to keep my mind and hands busy. When I'm sad the pretty fabrics lift my spirits, when I'm happy it gives me an outlet to express joy. It makes me feel creative.

therapy. I lost a child and afterwards I just wandered. But I turned to my quilting and for the time I sit with a project, everything is in order, my thoughts are captive and I can accomplish something.

hi, all the reason you said.
Some times the simple need to be making something, I get lost in my work and found.
Fun, charity and love to be used.
My first quilt projects was to use up old quilt pieces I got from relatives. I made 17 lap quilts and gave to Nursing homes. Then I made myself my first one. Again using up what I had. I enjoy sewing and found to make clothes for myself was no longer enjoyable. I like the creativity and the challenge of making a quilt. My second quilt was a Christmas quilt. Then I acquired more material from a relative and made a tumbling block. That will be a good summer quilt. I think now I am just going to make tops. I can store easily enough and when time comes to give to someone, I can tie or have it quilted. But mainly I make them so I have something to sew, then to keep busy and be creative.

I quilt for fun, the pleasure of seeing my ideas come to fruition, to use daily, and to see the pleasure it gives my loved ones to receive them.
