Ok I finished my first quilt, I dont know if any of you remember but I did the memory quilt for my step daughter. Its pictures of the tattoo's she has done, she owns her own shop. Well it came out good, but I just noticed (1) spot where the top stitch is so close to the binding that its frayed and could get worse. Would you tear out the whole binding or hand stitch over this pieice, any suggestions?

I think I would hand stitch if I could or just tear out a section just big enough to sew the seam more secure. It is really what your tolerance level. (grin). (If all else fails, cover with an applique...just a little special thing like a heart.)

Can you pick out the stitches, then use anti fraying stuff and when it dries tuck the frayed edge in more?

Is it small enough that you could do a repair zig-zag in a matching thread? If it is a really small area, it will never be seen, unless someone is looking.
If it is over 1/2" or more, I'd personally undo that part of the binding and fix it.

Well I could probably pick the stitches out and use anti fray, but I would have to sew them back some way. I dont have enough binder room to re bind it. Like I could stuff it under and rebind.

Yeah its 2" long, but the problem is if I undo it, I dont think I have enough material to pull over to catch under the binding. I think I just have to hand sew something , Im afraid of pulling it out, I might not be able to fix it and make a bigger mess of things.

I have a roll of 1/4" iron on tape I use when this happens. It is great for small spots. It is iron on for both sides. Sticks good. It is made by Pellon I believe.

I would hand stich over it

Applique or glue something over it. You could get those iron on jean patches and put a few in various spots on the binding to make it look intentional, not mistake hiding

I like the applique idea. Fun idea for a fun quilt.
