Thanks, you have brought up many valuable tips, but now I have another dilemma. Because I add each strip from top to bottom, do I need to somehow sew in cross stitches for the wider rows? Some are three inches wide on the queen bedspread. Most are 2 inches or less on the lap throws.

I would quilt the border.
