Quilting Rulers - Parrs?
Hi,
Firstly I shown own up and say that although I have pieced a lot I am brand new to the actual quilting. I am practising machine free motion quilting (need a lot more practice)!! But I am very curious about quilting rulers - anyone use them? http://www.parrsreelruler.co.uk/about_us.html Are the above quilting rulers or something else? |
I've never seen or heard of these rulers. At least not in the US. I'll be interested in hearing if anyone has used them.

I have not seen or used this company but I having been watching the posts on the Westalee rulers and ruler foot. They make a ruler foot that fits most machine. It is a little circle that runs along the thicker rulers for doing designs. If you can YouTube, they have several videos using their foot and rulers. You might also be interested in watching the ruler videos at Amy's site www.freemotionquiltingadventures.blogspot.com/

it would be nice to see a video in action

There have been previous posts so I tried using a straight normal ruler and found it difficult because you are also moving the quilt at the same time. Give me a line to follow, I am much more happier.

Amy's Free Motion quilting blog has information on using rulers on a DSM including a review of Parrs ruler

I actually just finished a wall hanging using the ruler foot and quilting rulers for domestic machines. I am hooked. There are tons of rulers to choose from and lots of YouTube videos on this. Check out Westalee videos. Good luck and have fun.

Thank you for the information, very interesting, I am going to take a look!

they look like they would make a cable easy to do.

I'm playing with the HQ Versatool for marking quilts. So far, with so many sizes included, it's easier to mark with than make or buy a stencil. Especially curves.
