quilting rulers

I have been going through my rulers and find that there are several duplicates and some I never use. Do any of you have any suggestions as to how I might sell them. Some were very costly. I would like to realize a little something from the sale of them. Thank you for your help.

If you belong to a quilt guild, most of them have newsletters where members can place small classified ads, usually at no charge. You can also offer them on ebay.

In addition to those places to advertise, the quilting board has a selling section too. Or perhaps Etsy.com.
Try to realize also that they are used items and price them accordingly.

shipping rulers can be expensive, anything bigger or longer than 8-10" can get snapped very easily in the mail process.

I belong to a facebook group called NWQuilters or maybe it is Pacific NW quilters, anyway we have a sister selling page so I know when I list something there I can meet in person for the switchover. I've sold four of my sewing machines and some misc stuff too unruly to ship, including about 30 rulers. I had to let them go because they were no longer working with my eye disease and shifting them on to another quilter home made me happy. I think I listed them about 75 bucks, the buyer was happy so win win.

If you do FB see if there is a (active) group for your state. I know tere are general quilter selling groups but I have found with those the listing sinks to the bottom rapidly so doesn't get many eyeballs at all.

Are these cutting rulers or for use in ruler work on the machine?

There is a forum here to sell things, but the best place I have found to sell is on Sew Its for Sale on Facebook.

There is also a quilters classified FB page for selling.

Selling them is one thing ......... and good luck to you in doing so.

However, what goes around, comes around!
So be careful in getting rid of the rulers, for fear that you want the same one next week!

Another thought .... a good glass cutting shop could re-cut them accurately for you.
With the duplicates, you could re-shape to a new size that could be quite usable.
And/Or you could get rid of chipped ages, by cutting those off.

I did that a few years ago when I needed an off-size square ruler for a project.
The pattern said to use a regular 6-1/2" for measuring 5-1/4".
I had an extra 6-1/2" re-cut to the 5-1/4".
The cutting went a lot smoother and quicker .... and no fears of miscutting at the wrong size.

Check on eBay to see what the rulers are going for. If they are specialty rulers they might be worth the shipping cost.
