quilting rulers

Just recently I started using quilting rulers with my Janome 6600. I really like doing this, but I wish I could find some heart shaped ones.

I have these templates. I like the size but they are not thick and sturdy enough

Does anyone know where I could buy some actual heart shaped quilting rulers?

Quilters Rule carries a set of heart shapes but you have to buy the set. You can also check with any local glass place and ask them if they can cut you the shape out of 1/4"plexiglass. Most will but many ask you to make the template to cut.

Edited to add they have a single heart in their bargain area

Teryl Loy has some heart shapes in 1/4" thickness. You need a high shank machine to use. The interior shaped templates are much easier to use than trying to go around the outside. She has two sizes .http://terylloy.com/templates-rulers/

The 6600 requires a thinner ruler than a 1/4" in order to be able to use it all the way around.
If you look at this link, you'll see a ruler made specifically for domestic machines by Westalee. If you contact any supplier they will tell you which foot you need for your model.

I have been using Angela Walters rulers with fairly decent sucess - - but I have smashed my finger a couple of times ha ha ha Is that why I should use thinner rulers??

I just talked to these people at a local quilt show. They make custom shapes and they had a ton of stock shapes in their booth. Might be worth a look or call.

I checked them out https://angeloakstitchery.com/quilti...hines.html?p=2
and none are hearts. they have the S-curve which could be used to make a heart, but would be fussy to do so. As on the above card, they'd have to make you a custom one.

Westalee rulers makes heart shaped rulers. You can buy them from several sources. This link has a video to see them in action: https://www.sewsteady.com/product/he...set-or-single/

Westalee has them. Angela Walters rulers are made either for domestics or for long arm machines--they don't interchange very well.
