I agree. I leave the block or quilt on the screen while I'm sewing so I get it right.

I just bought EQ7 and have been playing around with it and will take a class at LQS next week. So far I love it.

I bought EQ5 and it is rarely used in 6 years...

I was trying the 30 day free trial of 123Quilt and decided to buy it. Tried to download after paying for it and it kept stopping half way. So, I paid the extra to have the disk sent to me. Today I got the disk. Now it will not download because it says it is not compatible with my computer. I have a Windows Vista 64 bit. They said if any problems please call them. Well, I have and had to leave a message. Have not heard back yet. Sure hope I am not screwed!!!

I have EQ7 and I use it for almost every quilt I do. I like to put in the pattern to experiment with colours. I haven't designed anything myself but I have made changes to an existing pattern.

One of my favorite things about EQ is their support. Every time I have a question I email them and they always respond by the next day, but usually much sooner--like immediately. And their answers are so thorough, and we can go back and forth until I understand what they mean. I've gotten every question that I ever asked them answered satisfactorily.

I have EQ7. Just learning it.

Just don't get the idea of software to design a quilt. Of course unless you are professional and sell your ideas.

It's alot easier to figure out how much of a particular fabric you need before you've cut it up and to see how the colors play off each other without cutting up fabric. After I had made 3 trips to Joann's for fabric for a 2 color quilt--yes--2 colors and I kept running out!, Quilt Pro was in the mail--LOL! Now, I make my design in Quilt Pro and have it tell me how much I need. Then I go through my stash to make sure I have it and if not, back to the drawing board. I don't have to fight the kids for coloring pencils, crayons or clean paper any more either.

To use EQ (Electric Quilt) on a Mac, you'll need to run it in an emulator program. Quilt Pro (QP) has a Mac version & a Windows version.
