i got a new computer for Christmas and want to get some quilting software for it. i do not have a clue of what to get. i am an advanced beginner as far as following a pattern for quilting. i have made things just from my head for many years, and i want to combine the stuff from my head and something with an actual plan. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

EQ 6 is the one I would choose. I haven't upgraded to 6 because I can't afford it; no job at the moment. I've been using EQ5 for several years. It's easy to learn and you can do a lot with it.

That's my admittedly biased preference. There are several programs available. If you belong to a quilt guild, you might ask some of the members there to let you try the software, they use on their computer or at least watch over their shoulder. Software is a non returnable item. So if you can try before you buy, so much the better.

I just got EQ6 for Christmas. It has not been loaded on the computer yet but I have heard many many great recommendations for it

I have EQ6 and LOVE it!!! :D:D:D I think it is easy to learn and the possibilities for using it are endless... Also there is so much fabric you can download to it's fabric library from many online sites.

EQ6 was one of the best buys I made this year. I love it.
