quilting spray
Christine says she uses quilt basteing spray and sprays on the right side of the fabric. Why do you do that. I have an emb. machine and have never heard of this.

Maybe you could tell us more about what she was talking about or referencing to. I've never heard of doing this; in quilting or embroidery or quilting. I don't know who Christine is so I'm sorry if I can't help.

Why use quilt basting thread on embroidery
DACO 48 asked about spraying quilt basting spray on the right side of a 14 foot table runner she is working on. Next post down was Christine-o who says " I spray the right side of fabrics all the time when I do machine embroidery so here is what you do" I am trying to figure out why she would spray the right side of fabric when she machine embroiders. I machine emb. all the time and this has me puzzled. HELP!!!

perhaps she was attaching a wash away or tear away stabilizer to the front of her fabric to keep the embroidery threads from sinking into her fabric?
|
you should contact her and ask her to explain. perhaps PM her. not sure what she meant.

I have done machine embroidery quilting, using the quilt designs, and spraying the layers helps hold it together when you are setting the embroidery. Otherwise you may have to reshift several times. I have done this when doing larger projects to allow my layers to stay in one place. I have used my Bernina 165 to embroidery a lap size quilt and used the spray technique to get a good end result. Don't want any tucks. That is what I use it for.

You might want to go back to the thread you are talking about, and ask Christine there.
