Quilting on a Strip Quilt?

Does anyone have some ideas for simple quilting on a strip quilt? It's a generous lap size so I don't mind FMQ. I don't think I want to do SID. *Yawn* Boring!

Then do a decorative stitch. Many use a serpentine stitch. It helps us make suggestions if we see a photo of the quilt.

You could do something like swirls all over it, ignoring the lines of the strips.

I would go over to Lori Kennedy's site and try out a few of her designs down the strips. Many are worked inside of lines at www.theinboxjaunt.com./

I would use a walking foot and make softly curving lines across the quilt. Very easy and looks great! If you google wavy line quilting and then click on images, you should pull up examples of what it looks like.

I usually do spirals, swirls on string quilts.

Gather up different size bowls and use them as a base to sew concentric, variable sized spirals.

I like to do a wandering swaying line down the center of the strip. It gives a nice curve to balance the straight lines. (Also, it is very quick and easy.)
