Quilting suggestions, Please!

1 Attachment(s)
I am all ready to quilt this wall hanging and am at a loss as to how to quilt it! My first thought was a spiral or concentric circles in the main panel and something else for the border. Quite frankly, I am losing patience with this project! No matter how careful I was in cutting and piecing my seams are off! Never again will I make a quilt that calls for 1/8" seam allowances! I was hoping this would be good enough to enter in a show, but I think I am just going to have to enjoy it on my wall! Pleas offer up any suggestions you may have!

By the way, the quilt is a "fractured quilt" it is supposed to appear as if you are looking through fractured glass!

"Fractured glass".....there's your answer!

I love your quilt! I don't know if this would take away from the "fractured" look of the quilt, but I think I would try to reinforce the shape of the flower. Pebble the center, then use curvy, flame-type quilting on the petals.

Love your quilt. I am the worst to figure out how to quilt a quilt, but I agree with wesing.

It's lovely! I agree with wesing, pebbles or similar in the center and flame like quilting following the flower shape in the petals. I might stitch a fairly dense background fill in the dark background so the flower looks trapunto. It should definately go in the show!

Looks gorgeous to me!

I'm gonna vote with the others who said follow the flower.

Very nice.

Stunning quilt. I would stitch in more lighting bolt lines rather than circles but then I have never quilted anything like this. I don't blame you about the 1/8 seam. In over 25 years of quilting, I have NEVER heard of THAT before. It is absolutely gorgeous.

this seems like the best solution to me, also

Thank you for the suggestions, I never thought about tracing the flower! That sounds great! I have to get out of the mentality of doing the same thing on the entire quilt!
