can machine quilting thread still be used for hand quilting?

yes, you just can't use hand quilting thread for machine quilting.

Sometimes, thread made for machine use will drive you crazy when you try to use it in a hand needle - it will twist and knot and loop like crazy. If you could possibly buy the same color in thread made for hand sewing, you won't have as many headaches from misbehaving thread. Or maybe use Dual Duty XP, which is made for sewing by hand and machine.

You don't want to use the hand-sewing thread in the machine because it's got a glace finish and the plies are twisted in the opposite direction from machine-sewing thread.

Wow, an old dog can learn something new. I did not know hand Q thread is twisted in the opposite direction.
Thanks
