For me, it's all purpose sewing thread which is Coat's & Clark Dual Duty Plus or XP, whichever one I have in the neutral color I want at the time. I buy several spools in white, oatmeal, black and/or gray at a time when they are on sale at Joann's.

Thank you! I sort of thought so but then there is the possibility that it was something else us quilters have to add to our shopping lists.

Depends on what I have that is most neutral, often it is the quilting thread I used on the quilt, but I don't know there is a general rule. If there is, I am in big trouble!!

I use the same thread for everything, but I'm thinking about getting thicker thread for the quilting. I would still use the regular 50wt piecing thread for the binding though.
