And here is where I learn I've been doing it wrong. I cut my binding join seam allowances down to more like 1/8th inch and I don't press them open. I don't remember who I learned that from. I never thought twice about it, with all the folding and stitching that happens to the binding I figured 1/8th was enough!
Oh well...I always tell everyone that my quilts come with lifetime warranties, so hopefully if seams start to go they'll come back to me for some repair! |
QuiltnNan is so right. I made the mistake yesterday by trimming first, then had a hard time opening the tiny seam up. How easy it is to forget when you are used to pressing toward one side...
