Who has used this technique of quilting where you meander quilt on the back side of the quilt?
It seams like it would be easier to focus where you have quilted especially if the back side of your quilt is plain.
Any thoughts or comments on this?

i've never done a whole quilt that way, but i've experimented. it looks really kewl! it's on my list for the day i do one that's just quilting on a plain top and plain back. :-)

Hi auntluc..I've done a tiny bit of experiementing with this and need to buy an extra bobbin case so I can play some more. You need to make sure that you either know how to set the tension on your regular bobbin case or that you have an "extra" one to play with. You will need to probably loosen the tension on the bobbin to run some of the larger threads through.

They look great though...I used some of the Gold Razzle Dazzle and just did some of the decorative stitches on my machine and it looks sooo neat! You must try it sometime..you can use just about anything you can wind on a bobbin.

i'm holding on to my only machine with a regular bobbin case just for this "someday" project. no way i'd try it on a drop-in!

they're a bit pricey, but i think it would make sense to buy at least one extra bobbin case to guarantee you'll always have one that's set properly for regular thread.

i kinda wish auntluc hadn't brought it up and reminded me. that's all i needed. one more "man-i-really-want-to-make-one-of-those" haunting me. [sigh] :roll: :lol:
