Quilting Withdrawal

We are moving in a few months and I've been doing some packing and decluttering, which is LONG overdue. But, I haven't worked on quilting all week (though I have done a little sewing on some church dresses for my girls, but we all know that isn't the same thing) and I'm having quilting withdrawal. So, I'm putting my foot down. This afternoon, after we run errands, I'm making some time to quilt. I don't care what needs to be done. My sanity is at stake.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :p

I can relate. I've let other things get in the way of finishing a UFO this week, so I've warned my DH this weekend is quilting only.

I know how you feel! Quilting (whether it's piecing or actually quilting) keeps my frustration level down and my sanity level up! Go for it!

I can relate completely.. some times I just have to go and cut and manipulate mutiples of textiles. Maybe its the solitude, or the colors, or the creative process.... Not sure of anything ...other than I just HAVE to do it !

Sometimes I have to go look at my stash (not touch, not plan, just look) if life gets too busy to quilt. Calms me right down...

I too am in quilting withdrawal! I haven't done any for over a month. I have a pretty intense class this month "Microbiology" and I am in the process of re organizing my sewing room. I have a very small room 9 x9 and all of my stuff has just overwhelmed me. All my fabrics have been removed from the room and put on boards and are on the guest bedroom. I am working on deciding what stays and what goes and how to get what I want to keep back into my sewing room with out it looking like a tornado hit it!!! I have a ways to go and that darn Microbiology really gets in my way!

I am currently on a fabric buying freeze also but I plan on rewarding myself when this reorganization project is done with a little fabric shopping and a long weekend of quilting!!!

Hope you enjoy your quilting time!!!

I hear that. I am about to fly overseas; will be gone for a month. I wanted to take my featherweight, but DH doesn't want to bother with it.

jlm5419, you tell DH if he wants a sane wife while overseas you need to take your FW for sure.

Been overseeing the building my house, so I have not done much sewing in several months.
I made a lil guy a hotwheels quilt and a baby quilt for one of the finish carpenters. Thats pretty much it since OCT.
The one thing I keep telling myself is my quilting studio will be in the house when all is done, instead of a seperate building like it is now.

I am living in your future as we speak. I had the time the first three months of the year to quilt, but did not have the desire to do so. Then I had to pack up my sewing room since we moved last week. Now I can not wait to get it put back together so I can start sewing again. The desire has returned and I am so ready of all this unpacking to be done, but there is so much that needs to be done.

I think I will be tackling my sewing area real soon. I have been putting it off so I would get the rest of the house in living order, but can not wait any longer :o

I feel for you. I, too, sometimes just go into my quilting room and look through all my stash. I read some patterns and feel the fabric and I feel better. I even do a little rearranging. It seems to help.
