QUILTO will be played on Sunday, April 1st, at 3PM, EDT. Continue to send your email addies to me in PM. We want a good turn out, and a chance for many of us to have fun.

Be sure to check out the Picture page for the challenge blocks, today. You have all day to post a block to be entered in the drawing for prizes.

Boo,
Maybe it's just me, but could you tell me the rules of Quilto? I looked and looked and couldn't figure out what you guys are doing.

Yeah, I don't know what it is, either. I think it might be something like BINGO??????????????

Yvonne 03-23-2007 08:20 PM

Boo states in her 'National Quilting Day' post, "QUILTO is a bingo type game played using words instead of numbers."

If we can make that Blazing Arrow block I'm sure we'll be able to figure out QUILTO. Right? Well... maybe! We get to learn such neat things on this site! :D

zyxquilts 03-23-2007 08:30 PM

YES, Quilto IS like Bingo! Same setup, except that where the numbers are in the columns of Bingo, there are quilting terms in the columns of Quilto. Like....seam ripper, needles, blocks, rulers, scissors and if I remember correctly, there are also names of blocks too. Not too hard at all & lots of fun when we've played it at my guild meetings.
Looking forward to playing on the 1st!!!

sue

ButtercreamCakeArtist 03-23-2007 08:43 PM

Thanks for the help! It must be like the baby shower game where you fill in the blanks with baby items you think the mother-to-be will receive, then...."bingo" with that as she gets them, sorta!!!!
See, we're getting smarter every little bit! :S
I'll be here QUILTO-ing IF I can!

Boo 03-24-2007 09:31 AM

Yikes, sorry, been away from computer too long. Didn't realize there was a problem. Yes QUILTO is just like Bingo but with quilty words. Each person will make their own card of 5x5 boxes with free space in the center. We grab out button collection to use as markers. Once I made the mistake of using almond M&Ms and found myself eating the markers. While that may not sound too bad, there is a tendancy to overdose before the game is over.
I am planning a mass mailing with the list of words for next week, so make sure I have your email addy. Either print out the list, or save on computer for future games. It should be a fun time in chat that day!

PJ 03-24-2007 09:58 AM

So like I just e-mail prisjoWstx.rr.com and that will do it. What about the picture page??? I saw March's block and I intend to do one. Is that what you are talking about?? Sorry to be so dumb.

Norah 03-30-2007 07:30 AM

Are we gonna Quilto? I don't have anything n the email yet, so Iwas scared I am gonna miss it. When do we post the pics of our Blocks? Help me, help me. I am so lost on this one.

zyxquilts 03-30-2007 09:20 AM

I haven't gotten anything on the QUILTO yet either - I've even remembered to check my bulk mail/spam box before I flush it too.
Anybody received the words yet :?:

sue

mimisharon 03-30-2007 09:31 AM

What's a picture page? Where is the Quilto going on? I've missed a lot while I was gone. I'm whining here, just so you know.

I was out for a while, (my mom had a heart attack, but is doing well or I wouldn't be back yet.) and Patrice bless her, didn't divulge the reason, but I don't mind telling you I was scared out of my quilt mind. Almost scared enough to miss seeing my son before he went back to Iraq, but managed to get back in time to have lunch with him before he left.

This year has been a challenge at an almost age where I want peace and quiet not challenges other than learning new things in quilting. Anyone got an Amen to that?

Sharon

Norah 03-30-2007 09:49 AM

We all have an amen to that. No matter what your age, strife is not welcome. We are glad you are back, glad you and your mom are doing better, and glad you got to see your son. And we are glad we know ya. We missed you. :-)

mimisharon 03-30-2007 01:17 PM

Oh, thanks, Norah! I do appreciate the prayers, the missing me, and the friendships I've made with some. I so enjoy quilting and would love to have had some with me while waiting for the catherization, the medicines to work, and now I'm reluctant to get back to the quilt I was cutting the blocks for. I don't want a repeat of last week. It's just to hard.

Thank you, friend, so enjoy talking with you.
Sharon

mimisharon 03-30-2007 01:18 PM

oops, it posted twice and I only pushed submit once.

Boo 03-30-2007 05:37 PM

Everyone go check your email. I sent out the Quilto stuff tonight. If you have not received a list please PM me that you want to play. Remember the game will be at 3pm EDT, on Sunday April 1. Check to make sure your time zone.

Anyone who hasn't PM'd me with their email, please do so now if you want to play.

See you on Sunday, bring own M&M's.

Pat 03-30-2007 06:29 PM

BOO, I hope this is PMing you. I still don't know all of the shortcut talk. I would like to play Quilto too. My email is : . Thanks for taking care of this for everyone. It sounds like fun. I've done it one time at my quilt quild meeting. It was fun. See you Sunday. Pat

Pat, PM means private messaging. If you click on the posters name you can send them a PM. I am removing your email addy from the posts. Better to keep this info private, but will be sending you a list.

Knot Sew 03-31-2007 05:34 AM

I still don't get quilto.........what if we fill in the card as we go? How many cards? Do we register our card? help!!!!!

Boo 03-31-2007 11:03 AM

Ruth, make your card ahead of time. Like right now. If you make it as we play, that would be cheating. Quilters aren't cheaters! If you need a fat quarter just let me know, you really don't need to cheat. Hope to see you tomorrow!

Boo 03-31-2007 11:12 AM

There seems to be some confusion here. Quilt-O will be played in the chat room. You will find the link to the chatroom above where it says Live Chat. Just click on there to be taken to the chatroom. It takes a few moments to load, so just sit patiently and you will be in.

Knot Sew 03-31-2007 01:04 PM

ok I made a card one word in each space, we don't need to keep the list right? Now this will probably be the sunday the whole family shows up and I have to cookdinner

zyxquilts 03-31-2007 01:41 PM

Ruthie - if the whole family shows up tomorrow....tell them to send out for PIZZA!!!!!!!
See you at Quilto!
