Quilts are focus of room
I went to my old home town last week and while there visited a friend I have had for twenty years. She had the quilt I made for her mom on her wall and a quilt I made her on a quilt rack below it. I was so pleased.
I made the quilt for her mom in 2003 and the quilt for her in 2012. |
That's so nice.

So nice to know they loved your work! When I went to the funeral of a friends mother they had draped a quilt I had made her, I didn’t realize home much she liked it. Makes a difference in how I view gifted quilts.

Isn’t it wonderful when our gifts are appreciated?
|
it's great to know folks love your quilt gifts. my teenage DGS keeps the quilt i made him pristine on his bed... hard to believe since the background is white :)
|
That’s so nice! I love when I go to someone’s house and I see my quilt draped over the back of a sofa or hanging on the baby’s wall. Of course, then there are the times when there’s no sign of the quilt anywhere....

Oh how lovely...And I love seeing a quilt in tatters...especially a child's quilt...It means it was well loved and used. My 45 yo son has remnants of his "bird" quilt from his baby days!

How lovely! Displayed quilts doshow forth the warmth of friendship! Great feelings!
|
What a great thing to see how she displays your quilts. I am sure that makes you feel so good in knowing she treasures those gifts.
|
That's awesome, Darcy!! You must have been thrilled.

It's great to see your work appreciated and loved.
|
How nice. We work so hard making our quilts and it would feel good to either see them displayed or in use.
|
Can't ask for a better response than that! Everyone likes to know their hard work went appreciated.
|
How heartwarming for you!
I made what I thought was a lap robe for a friend when he was dealing with cancer. A few years later when I visited their new home, his wife had hung it above their bed. It was a simple jelly roll race quilt, but hung above their bed, it looked fantastic! |
That is so wonderful. I made a quilt for a friend that lives on my street years ago for her first baby, A few years later it was laying on top of the trash can, still in good shape. Guess who has the quilt back.
I am so glad your friend loves the quilts you made for them. |
How nice to know your quilts are treasured.
|
That's a wonderful friend who values your work. It's so nice to be appreciated.

I, too, had the joy of seeing a quilt on the casket of a friend's mother. It meant so much to my friend to have the quilt.
|
How nice to see that she loves what you made!
